Welcome to my page! My name is Becky Raymond. I live with my husband outside of Pearsall. My father was in the Air Force, so......I was born in Alabama and moved around the United States, Central and South America. Eventually the family ended up in San Antonio, where I joined them after I graduated from college.
I have a Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University (Go SEMINOLES!!).
Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher. After spending time in the business world, I decided to do what I was meant to do and became a certified teacher. I have been teaching for 14+ years. I taught Kindergarten and 4th grade. I then went into 4th grade Reading Intervention and eventually moved into working with the Dyslexia Students. I LOVE working with these students - they are the most awesome in the world
In my classes, I use the Dyslexia Intervention Program along with several programs developed by Linda Mood Bell. The programs include alphabet activities, review of the reading deck and spelling deck, introduction of new concepts, a spelling activity, review, listening and verbal expression along with reading comprehension, writing activities and study skills.
I evaluate students for Dyslexia at Ted Flores and Pearsall Intermediate using the recommended tests.
